On night number one his vocals were as strong as they have been in the last two decades. Slow in the middle? Perhaps but still moving. Serious or unserious? Quien sabes and no matter. Another night of wonderful gifts.
Bob, playing and singing his words, his truths once again. The Greek Theatre concert wss perfect and I am still digesting the experience. The chosen setlist songs were melancholy, funny and oddly foreboding at times. Bob was the wise songbird, an elder singing his own song. The band was incredible. The majority of the nearly nine thousand fans watched Dylan with respect and love so incredibly strong it could be felt. I loved that. Seeing him at this time of life, his and mine, brought emotions that are still with me. It’s still hard to talk about. #bobdylan #berkeley
I've seen many Bob shows. I was just showing my girlfriend the House of Blues show at the Atlanta Olympics where I'm caught with a beer and a girl on the front row. Flash forward many shows later to my most recent "serious" show in Macon. Fantastic. Looking forward to Atlanta in July where I told my gf I was taking her to see Lucinda Williams. Thanks for the reviews.
I was at all the shows you mentioned, and will be at the Atlanta show on July 31 as well! That recent Macon show was one of my favorite Bob shows yet, over 37 years of seeing him in concert. Looking forward to at least one more at that show 6 weeks from now.

My own pretentious comment would be that nothing would be more appropriate in the faux Greek setting than lyrics influenced by Virgil in the four 2020 songs. They seemed to get across in our row.

This is brilliant. Ian's Serious/Unserious Bob show distinction is something I've been thinking for a while but never been able to articulate.

The singing on night 2's Black Rider was heart-stoppingly beautiful and accomplished.

Having attended the "serious" Jackson, MS show recently, which was incredible, I agree the merch is in need of a refresh and larger sizes.
So do I go myself Wed to Santa Barbara? 1 1/2 hours? My concert partner (daughter) to this relocated NYer be working...
