Thanks Ray, best guest review yet and props to Bruce. We’re close in age and I related to his facts and feelings. You’re providing a valuable service Ray, hope everyone appreciates it as much as I do. Keep on keeping on.
Great review! I was there as well. I have to agree with you about the venue, although the security screener didn’t say anything about our two pairs of binoculars; that’s really odd.
Enjoyed your review. This jibes a lot with my impressions of the recent Alpharetta, GA show. It's a better Outlaw set than a year ago. As I always say, right now is a great time to be a Dylan fan.
One can only wonder what the fall shows will hold, knowing that what we think they will be about is really just guesswork.
I was there as well (and was there last year for the 'wrench episode'). I'm a year younger than you and, like you, was hooked on Dylan very shortly after getting hooked on the Beatles and the rest of it in '64 and '65 (and, not to pile it on, was very fortunate that the first time I saw Dylan was at the Concert for Bangladesh). I also found the Darien amphitheater less than ideal. I think I was in the same row as you and had a row of obstreperous, very drunk people behind me. Very, very distracting. I really revel in listening to Dylan and how he delivers (and changes) the tunes, the words, the inflections, the harp...and the drunken crowd behind me (even once dripping beer down my back) nearly ruined an otherwise marvelous experience. I love how he has (and, at times, hasn't) modified songs. I hope the next pass through upstate (and please let there be one) is in a venue that does not serve alcohol. I'm no teetotaler, but there is a time and a place...
Wonderful review, Bruce!

“there are people who would talk through a Beatles reunion.”
A-f#€£ing-men !!!
That’s mine now. :)
Thanks for the slinky review, Bruce Eaton.
Really great review!
Really nice piece, Bruce. I always enjoy hearing fans tell their Dylan origin stories.
